An original community theatre twist on this much-loved tale
Celebrating 80 years of the film, come down the Yellow Brick Road as Lane Cove Theatre Company presents The Wondrous Wizard of Oz in a never-before-seen, toe-tapping adaptation by Cameron Farnham. Set against a backdrop of classic songs by such beloved artists as ABBA, Diana Ross, Dolly Parton, and, of course, Judy Garland, this production promises fun for all the family, with Dorothy Gale, the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, little Toto, and many more, brought vividly to life.
When a raging tornado hits the sleepy little farming community of Lâne Cové, dreamer Dorothy Gale is transported to a fantastical world of Munchkins, Winkies, and Wicked Witches. Her journey to the Emerald City and back home is one of singing, dancing, tears, and laughter, based on a story that has captivated audiences for almost 120 years. Watch as Dorothy and friends battle the forces of evil, and rest assured that kindness, love, family, and community will ultimately win the day.
The Wondrous Wizard of Oz boasts a large cast of talented adult, teenage, and child performers from all over Sydney. It’s the classic story we all know and love, but full of twists and turns. You’ve never seen Oz like this before – and showing only in Lane Cove for a limited run.
